Pros and Cons of Web-Based English Language Learning Programs

As recent technological developments familiarized the whole world with the concept of the Internet, the Web has paved the way for many learning and educational opportunities. Be it curriculum, vocational, or business related learning, the internet cab support all.
But, like any good thing it has some loopholes. These web-based English language learning programs also have certain negative aspects along with the positive.
Positive Aspects:
·        Convenience in Scheduling of Classes: As these web-based platforms enable a learner to learn advanced English online, these provide the convenience of taking lessons as and when the learner feels like it. This means that learners can attend their online classes from anywhere at any time. These web-based classes are available 24x7. Also, all the lessons are posted online, so no one will face any issue in accessing them.
·        Cost-Effectiveness: As these platforms offer study material online, one needs not to purchase books or notebooks. The lessons which the English language learners feel important can be printed out. Additionally, one does not need to make any extra payment for the lessons which are printed out.
·        Additional Interactive Material: The online language teaching programs offer several other additional materials which are quite interactive like audio, videos and several other graphics. More interactive material makes learning easier and understanding clearer.
Negative Aspects:
·        Lack of Personal Interaction: As online language teaching courses are web-based, there is limited or no face-to-face interaction between the teacher and the student. Lack of personal interaction reduces the chances of practicing the lessons which are being taught online.
·        Less Motivation: Lack of personal interaction may result in less motivation from the teacher's side. The learner has to be self-motivated to complete lessons, practical tasks, and practice exercises.
